“By faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going.” –Heb. 11:8. This verse demonstrates how strong Abraham’s faith really was–he believed the promises God made to Him, so much so that he went about obeying God’s command to move as soon as it was given. This is what true faith does: it causes the believer to act upon that faith and do things that we wouldn’t otherwise do without faith. Would you pack up all your belongings and start moving without even knowing where you’re going? This is what Christians should be doing today. By faith, we obey when we are called to go out to a place we are to receive as an inheritance (Heaven), and we then move away from sin, not knowing how to get to Heaven on our own.
