The Thief on the Cross

The “thief on the cross” is a compelling example of a penitent sinner who realized who Jesus was– the only one capable of saving him when he needed it most. While realizing he was receiving justice for the robberies he had committed (and paying for them with his life), he understood that Jesus was a King and was being unfairly executed. By requesting the Lord remember him when he came into His kingdom, the thief declared his faith at a time when no one else would, not even the apostles. This lesson examines what we know about the thief on the cross and whether anyone else can be saved like he was.
